What’s your favorite memory from your time at the University of Pécs?

"I arrived to Hungary with just a suitcase and a heart full of dreams, and left not only as a professional with an international diploma and having graduated top of my class, but also with experiences that I will carry forever, and lifelong friendships. Pécs quickly became my home away from home, and everything that I lived there I will cherish my whole life.

I learned to appreciate the beauty in the small details of everyday life; how going to the supermarket with friends can become a fun anecdote, how spending Christmas with them made me feel at home, or how a simple walk through the city centre can lead to the most amazing conversations. "

Was there a class, professor, or project that really stuck with you?

"During my studies I had the opportunity to take classes with amazing professors, who made sure to mix theory and practise in a unique and engaging way, making every class (even the hardest ones) enjoyable to all of us. For example, I can recall my HR professor – Kispál-Vitai Zsuzsanna – who, through every class, was able to generate a dynamic and interactive setting.

In July 2022, I also had the opportunity to participate in the "Simonyi Summer Social Entrepreneurship Program" that the University of Pécs organises with the Ohio University. This experience enabled us students to put theory into practice with real-life scenarios, whilst giving us a beautiful summer full of community building, cultural exposure, and fun activities."

What’s one skill, habit, or tradition you picked up at Pécs that you still carry with you today?

"I would have to say social skills. When I just arrived in Hungary, I was worried about feeling alone or finding it hard to make new friends. I really had to put me out there, talk to people and leave aside any insecurity. I quickly realised that everyone was facing the same fears and trying to find their new people, and that being myself was more than enough."

If you were giving a campus tour, what “secret spot” would you show?

"The promenade of the Cathedral is one of the hidden gems in Pécs. It offers a different perspective of one of the most iconic buildings in the city."

What’s something about your life now that would totally surprise your 18-year-old self?

"I think everything. I always used to say that my dream was to travel all around the world, and coming from a small city in Argentina this felt so far away from my reality. But I got a scholarship, moved across the world, met people from countries I didn't even know that existed, got an international degree, travelled across Europe, and even got my Hungarian citizenship. I now feel that we should dream big, take risks, and with a little faith and effort you will achieve everything you set your mind on."

If you could come back for a day as a student, what would you do first?

"Gather with the friends I made there, and simply enjoy one more day with their company, talking and laughing like we used to. Simply enjoy the simple moments, which are the ones you will miss the most."
